Meet Dr Carlos Garcia, Research Associate at Imperial College London. Dr Garcia gives an overview of the Large-scale Multi-chemistry Degradation Study. This is a highly systematic cell degradation study, undertaken within The Faraday’s Institution (FI) MultiScale Modelling (MSM) project and performed using bespoke cells, which has been carefully designed to support the MSM project and the development of degradation mechanism models in PyBaMM by providing modellers with a relevant and dependable dataset.

Since 2018, the Multiscale Modelling project works to equip industry and academia with new software modelling tools to predict and improve battery lifetime and performance, by connecting the understanding of battery materials at the atomic level all the way up to an assembled battery pack.
